The Minnesota Timberwolves are looking into the possibility of bringing Michael Redd into training camp.
The Minnesota Timberwolves reportedly have an interest in bringing free agent shooting guard Michael Redd into camp, according to Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN in Minnesota. Wolfson, though, says that Redd has not been receptive to Minnesota's overtures.
The Timberwolves spent much of the offseason attempting to rebuild a wing rotation that was one of the worst in basketball last year, adding players like Andrei Kirilenko, Brandon Roy, Chase Budinger and Alexey Shved. Redd is a one-time Olympian whose career was derailed in 2009 and 2010 after multiple knee injuries. He played for the Suns last season, averaging 8.2 points and 1.5 rebounds per game just over 15 minutes per game. Redd was able to stay reasonably healthy, appearing in 51 games, but his shooting percentages were down considerably across the board from his career averages.
There has been no word whether Redd is considering retirement or if he's holding out for a more preferable situation or more money.
