Since June 1, the Minnesota Twins have been the best team in Major League Baseball. Unfortunately, since April and May were such a disaster for the team, that just means they've climbed from "awful" to "mediocre" in terms of their overall record over that time frame.
Here are the current American League Central standings:
As you can see, the Minnesota Twins are no longer in last place in the American League Central. That's the effect of winning seven in a row and fourteen of their last sixteen games. The Twins haven't spent a lot of time outside of the basement this year, but they've climbed out now. . .hopefully they can stay out for the rest of the way.
It's another week of interleague games this week for Major League Baseball, and the Twins will have a pretty tough go of things on that front, as they have series this week against two first-place teams. They start the week with three games against the defending World Champions and current NL West leaders, the San Francisco Giants. Then they come back to the Midwest for three games against the leaders on the NL Central, the Milwaukee Brewers.
