Blackburn (0-1, 5.56 ERA) felt tightness in the back of the shoulder Saturday against the Texas Rangers, and he left in the sixth inning. Anthony Swarzak will likely move up to start in Blackburn's place on Thursday. In two starts, Swarzak is 0-2 with an ERA of 3.75 in 12 innings pitched.
The Minnesota Twins begin a four-game series with the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium Monday. Carl Pavano is expected to start Monday, followed by Francisco Liriano Tuesday and Jason Marquis on Wednesday.
