Twins Vs. Orioles Opening Day: Minnesota's 2-Run Rally Falls Short In The 9th

The Twins fell on Opening Day. 4-2, to the Baltimore Orioles in Camden Yards.

Josh Willingham homered after Joe Mauer walked for the second time Friday evening, but the Minnesota Twins rally fell short in the ninth inning, 4-2,to the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Md.

Carl Pavano pitched seven innings allowing five hits and four runs, but Orioles Jake Arrieta allowed just two hits and two walks in seven scoreless innings.

Nick Markakis had two hits--a two-run home run and and RBI triple-- to power the Orioles offensively, while Jim Johnson earned the save. Matt Weiter also had an RBI.

The Twins left seven men on base and managed just six hits. Justn Morneau, Danny Valencia and Chris Parmalee each had a hit, while Denard Span had two hits.
