The Minnesota Twins saw their modest four-game winning streak end in emphatic fashion on Sunday at Milwaukee, as the Brewers avoided a sweep at Miller Park in a 16-3 win. The Twins' pitching staff gave up 17 hits and the Brewers scored 16 unanswered runs after Minnesota took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
Milwaukee had a six run second inning, spurred by a two-run double by Ryan Braun. Jonathan Lucroy and Corey Hart also had solo homers early on for Milwaukee. Lucroy also added a grand slam in the seventh inning to go 3 for 5 on the day with seven RBI.
Joe Mauer still had a solid 4 for 5 day at the plate for the Twins, but Jason Marquis only made it through five out before he was tagged with eight earned runs.
