The Minnesota Twins will begin a series with the Oakland A's on Monday at Target Field.

After a sweep at the hands of the Detroit Tigers, the season that was already lost is getting worse all the time for the Minnesota Twins. Their competition in their next series won't exactly be stellar though as they host the Oakland Athletics.

Both teams are currently well out of first place in their divisions and both are currently on five game losing streaks, a season high for Oakland.

Scott Diamond will take the mound for the Twins, he of a 3-1 record and 1.78 ERA. Those are some of the best numbers that any Twins pitcher has to offer right now but has had a bad case of lack of run support from his teammates on most of his trips to the hill so far this year. He will face Travis Blackley, with a 0-0 record and a 4.09 ERA, from the Athletics.

The game will be at Target Field at 2:10 p.m. ET.
