Minnesota closer Matt Capps has a sore right throwing shoulder and is expected to miss Sunday's game.

A day after yielding a two-run homer that cost his team a loss on Friday, Minnesota Twins closer Matt Capps came to the ballpark on Saturday morning with a sore right throwing shoulder and is now expected to be unavailable for a few days according to manager Ron Gardenhire.

Seeing as how Capps hasn't actually had an MRI yet, it's hard to truly diagnose how serious this shoulder injury might be right now, even if the team is downplaying it. Gardnehire knows full well how tricky these types of things can be after the Carl Pavano situation earlier in the year, so it's clear the Twins will be as cautious as possible with the man who serves so admirably as the backbone of their bullpen.

Even though a Tuesday or Wednesday return is not out of the question, Jared Burton and Glen Perkins should each serve in a closer-by-committee situation while Capps is unavailable to pitch.
