Twins Vs. Cubs: Minnesota Looks For Back-To-Back Wins Over Cubs

Stay connected for news and updates

The Minnesota Twins will look to continue winning in their series against the Chicago Cubs after taking game one 8-7 in 10 innings. Minnesota is at the bottom of the AL Central, but they've won eight of their last ten and are facing a struggling Cubs team.

Scott Diamond (4-1 1.86 ERA) will take the hill for Minnesota, facing Jeff Samardzija (5-3, 3.13 ERA) for Chicago. The Twins' left-hander was feeling good about his chances, according to what he told the official Twins website:

"I think that little taste that I got last year really helped me feel a lot more comfortable coming around this time," Diamond said. "I know a lot of guys in this locker room and everything. It's been a lot easier to make that transition."

Also worth noting from the Twins website is that Joe Mauer may make his return from a sprained thumb on Saturday. The Twins Game two of the series is in Minnesota and is scheduled for 1:10pm CDT (2:10pm EDT).
