The Minnesota Twins' Brian Duensing has left Wednesday night's game against the Detroit Tigers after being hit by a line drive from Alex Avila.
The ball appeared to hit Duensing's left ankle, via the Star Tribune's Joe Christensen.
Though he was wincing and appeared to be in a significant of pain, Duensing walked off under his own power. No word yet on the seriousness of the injury, but he has been replaced by Ryan Waldrop.
Duensing pitched four and one-third innings on Wednesday night. He gave up four hits, two earned runs, walked one and struck out two. He wasn't having a bad night until Avila came up to bat.
Wednesday's game was delayed from a 7:30 p.m. ET first pitch to a 9:30 p.m. ET first pitch. In the sixth inning, the Twins trail 2-1.
