Twins Vs. Red Sox: Minnesota Looks To Continue Playing Spoiler

There's not much of a chance that the Minnesota Twins are going to see the post-season in 2012, but they do have plenty of chances to act as a spoiler for other teams in the American League as the season starts to hit its prime going into August.

They took one of those chances on Thursday when they beat the Boston Red Sox 5-0, and have three more shots now to knock the Sox out of the Wild Card race just a bit more. The loss put the Sox back behind five teams in the wild card race and also put them at .500, fourth in the AL Central.

Game one featured a two-hitter from Samuel Deduno, and the Twins are hoping for another quiet day out of Boston's offense as Brian Duensing (2-6, 4.53 ERA) takes the mound. Duensing, who spent most of the season in the bullpen, is in the lineup replacing the spot that was vacated when Francisco Liriano was traded to the Chicago White Sox right before the trade deadline. Boston will counter with Felix Doubront (10-5, 4.37 ERA).

The game will be at Fenway Park at 7:10 p.m. ET.
