The Minnesota Twins may change their Single-A minor league Affiliation from the Beloit Snappers to the Cedar Rapids Kernals. The Twins have affiliated with the Snappers since 2005.

The Twins look increasingly likely to change their Class-A affiliation from Beloit, Wis. to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, ESPN reports. An official announcement may be given on Friday, Sept. 20.

The Class-A Beloit Snappers were founded in 1982, and spent most of their history as the Beloit Brewers, affiliates of the Miluakee Brewers. The name and affiliation change came in 2005. Prince Fielder, Tony Gwynn Jr. and Danny Valencia have all spent time with the team.

The minor league team based in Cedar Rapids is currently known as the Kernals and is an affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, but the team has gone through as many names as they have affiliations, nearly a dozen of each. The team has played at the Single-A level since 1962, plus a stretch between 1934 and 1937.
