The Washington Redskins came into today’s game ranked 30th in the National Football League in terms of converting third downs. But, as we’ve seen all season, if there’s one team for you to get healthy against in that regard, it’s the Minnesota Vikings.
The Redskins had four third-down opportunities on their opening drive, and converted all four of them. Donovan McNabb was 8-for-8 on the drive, and concluded the proceedings with a 10-yard touchdown pass to tight end Fred Davis for the score.
Washington’s scoring drive moved 83 yards in 13 plays, and took 7:53 to complete.
With seven minutes left in the first quarter of play, the Vikings trail the Redskins by a score of 7-0.
