Detroit Lions 3, Minnesota Vikings 0 - Joe Webb Isn't Perfect After All

Stay connected for news and updates

The Vikings were driving towards a score, but Joe Webb made a rookie mistake that cost the Vikings and, now, sees them trailing.

Webb was looking for Greg Lewis on the right-hand side of the field on a third down play, but the pass was intercepted by Detroit’s Amari Spievey, who brought the ball to the Detroit 31.

The Lions’ offense stalled a bit thanks to a big sack by Ray Edwards and Jared Allen, but Detroit brought on Dave Rayner rather than punting, and Rayner blasted a 55-yard field goal to give Detroit the lead.

The Lions’ scoring drive moved 32 yards in 8 plays, taking 4:18 off of the clock.

With just a shade under seven minutes left in the first half, the Vikings trail the Lions, 3-0. Lorenzo Booker has just gotten a very nice kickoff return to about midfield to help the Vikings’ cause on the ensuing kickoff.
