Vikings Lead 7-3 After The First Quarter

Stay connected for news and updates

Another first quarter, another early lead for the Vikings.

The Chiefs chewed up over half the quarter with their drive to open the game, but the Vikings defense held strong in the Red Zone and held Kansas City to a 40-yard Ryan Succop field goal. On the ensuing drive, the Vikings pounded AP early to get past midfield. And then—are you sitting down?—Donovan McNabb completed a beautiful 34-yard touchdown pass over the top to Devin Aromashodu for a 7-3 Vikings lead. (I did NOT expect to type that sentence.)

The Vikings and Chiefs head into the second quarter with the Vikings still holding that 7-3 lead.
