As the season begins to draw to a close the Minnesota Vikings are probably glad to be done with the Green Bay Packers. The defending Super Bowl champs dispatched Minnesota 45-7 on Monday night in a costly game that saw cornerback Antoine Winfield's season end with a broken clavicle. Now at 2-7, SB Nation's Joel Throman dropped the Vikings to No. 30 in this week's NFL Power Rankings:

30. Minnesota Vikings (2-7, LW: 27): The Vikings, like every other team, were torched by the Packers. The good news is that Christian Ponder doesn't look like a bust.

Minnesota's season does not get any easier as the Oakland Raiders, who lead the AFC West Division, come to the Metrodome this week. Of Minnesota's remaining seven games only one, against the Washington Redskins, comes against a team that is totally out of the playoff hunt. That game does not happen until Christmas Eve.
