After getting sliced and diced by Drew Brees the Minnesota Vikings inched closer to the bottom of this week's SB Nation NFL Power Rankings. According to Joel Thorman, the Vikings remained better than only two teams: the Colts and Rams. With Indianapolis earning its first win of the season the Colts got closer to the Vikings, but were not able to pass them:

30. Minnesota Vikings (2-12, LW: 30): By the time the quarterback position develops, and they put some more talent on the team over the next few years, Adrian Peterson may be on his last legs, which is unfortunate.

Minnesota still has a chance at earning the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, but to do so they would need the Colts to win at least one more game. With Christian Ponder picked in the first round of last year's draft it is likely that Minnesota would not invest in one of the highly rated quarterbacks that will likely be available in the top 5.
