Week 17 NFL Power Rankings: ESPN Holds Vikings At No. 30 Despite Win

The Minnesota Vikings picked up a solid win on Saturday, a win that showed a lot of what this team does have to offer and can do next season. Unfortunately, the attention quickly shifted from the win over the Washington Redskins to the injury of running back Adrian Peterson. Suddenly, the guesses are all over the place: six months, nine months, two years. It's not likely to get any better. Still, they're playing well at other positions and that's always a good sign. They're generally going up a little in the weekly power rankings.

ESPN, however, holds them in their same spot in their Week 17 NFL power rankings:

30. The nightmarish season got worse when Adrian Peterson blew out his knee. (Clayton)

It's probably as good a reason as any to keep a team from rising up the power rankings - the injury of its best player - but most of the other rankings had them going up at least one. Either way, the Vikings are picking in the top ten of the draft and that's reflected here at No. 30.
