Vikings At Seahawks: Adrian Peterson Scores Early On

The Minnesota Vikings got the ball first against the Seattle Seahawks, and they did what they do best. . .handed the ball to the NFL's best running back and let him do the work.

The Vikings started out from their own 20-yard line after a touchback, and Peterson picked up five yards on 1st-and-10. Then, on 2nd-and-5, Peterson took a handoff and, after making a Seahawk miss, blasted through the Seattle defense for a 74-yard run down to the Seattle 1-yard line. Peterson appeared to run out of steam a bit at the end, but it was his longest run of the season.

After an incomplete pass from Christian Ponder on first-and-goal, the Vikings did the smart thing and handed the ball to Peterson again, and he plowed into the end zone for a 1-yard touchdown to give the Vikings the lead. Blair Walsh added the extra point, and the Vikings took an early 7-0 lead.

If the Vikings are going to win this one, they'll probably need a heavy dose of #28 in order to make it happen. That's just what they got on the first drive.

Just 1:45 into the game at CenturyLink Field, and the Minnesota Vikings have taken a 7-0 lead over the Seattle Seahawks.
