2012 NFL Draft: Minnesota Vikings Willing To Trade Down

The Minnesota Vikings are going to draft Matt Kalil or Justin Blackmon, so it is said by the mock drafts and so it shall be. That's what you'll find in the majority of mock drafts, despite the Vikings suggesting otherwise. They haven't suggested that they're considering one player over another, but they've said they wouldn't shy away from drafting a quarterback and things of that nature.

And now the Vikings are adding another layer to the mix, according to the Washington Post. General manager Rick Spielman said recently that the team is open to moving in the draft, eluding to a move backwards in the event that a team wants to move up and draft Robert Griffin III.

Many folks have already suggested this as an option, especially if the player they want (potentially Kalil) is taken by the Rams at No. 2. This would seem to imply that the quarterback the Vikings would draft (providing that wasn't just a ploy to make teams want to trade into the No. 2 spot so Kalil remains available) is Andrew Luck, who almost certainly won't be there.

Spielman seems to be open to everything at this point. That's probably a good thing, given that the team is in possession of a very valuable pick, whether they use it or trade it.
