Super Bowl XLVI Score Update: Danny Woodhead Puts The Patriots Ahead

The New England Patriots put together an outstanding drive late in the first half, and have taken a lead against the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI.

The Patriots tied the longest drive in Super Bowl history with a 96-yard drive that took 14 plays and 3:55 to complete. The scoring play saw Tom Brady drop back to pass on a 3rd-and-3 from the Giants' 4-yard line, and because the Giants dropped defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul back into coverage, Brady had all day to scan the field. He started looking to the left, went to the right, and came back to the left to thread a pass to running back Danny Woodhead for a 4-yard touchdown pass.

Steven Gostkowski's extra point put the Patriots ahead for the first time tonight by a score of 10-9.

Brady was 10-for-10 on that go-ahead drive, and Woodhead touched the ball seven times.

The Giants still have a huge advantage in the time of possession battle, having held the ball nearly twice as long as the Patriots thus far, but the Patriots did what they needed to do, and they get the ball coming out of the locker room at halftime.

We're at the midway point of Super Bowl XLVI, and the New England Patriots lead the New York Giants by a score of 10-9. Enjoy Madonna, ladies and gentlemen!
