The NFL recently just imploded, with the news that several folks linked to the New Orleans Saints bounty program getting fines and suspensions. Sean Payton, head coach of the Saints, is out for a year, while the general manager has been suspended for nine games. Gregg Williams, now of the St. Louis Rams, is suspended indefinitely, and everyone is, how you say, flipping out.
Now there's some more details coming out about the bounty program - which gave rewards to players who injured a specific opposing player. Mike Jurecki reports via Twitter that the NFL's investigation yielded information regarding some of the particular players who had bounties places on them.
The investigation showed bounties being placed on 4 quarterbacks of opposing teams – Brett Favre, Cam Newton, Aaron Rodgers & Kurt Warner.

That's significant for Minnesota because listing Favre could mean it's relevant to the Vikings. Favre played for Minnesota in recent years, and this whole bounty system has apparently been going on for some time now. It's also more worrying given the age of guys like Favre and Warner - players indisputably near the end of their careers at the time.
It's also kind of odd to see, given that the Vikings weren't all-that great with Favre at the helm. Were the Saints just looking to get a competitive edge, or was there more to wanting certain players to sustain injuries to knock them out of games?
