2012 NFL Draft: Vikings Select WR Greg Childs From Arkansas

The Minnesota Vikings selected Arkansas wide receiver Greg Childs with the No. 39 pick on the fourth round (No. 134 overall).

The Vikings are exceptionally thin at receiver, and the 6-3, 219-pound Childs could help bolster the unit.

As a senior last season, Childs had 21 catches for 240 yards. Those numbers aren't anything to write home about, but Childs missed four games. What's more, Childs was coming off a patellar tendon injury in late 2010 that sidelined him for some six months.

In eight games in 2010 prior to the injury, Childs had 46 catches for 659 yards and six TDs. As a sophomore in 2009, he had 48 catches for 897 yards and a whopping 18.7 yards per catch average.

Childs is the second receiver from Arkansas that the Vikings have taken in the Draft, having selected fellow Razorback Jarius Wright 16 picks earlier.
