Minnesota Vikings Not Planning To Pursue Bill Parcells

Stay connected for news and updates

The obvious need for a new leader and a new direction when the rumors started made perfect sense, but it appears that the Minnesota Vikings are not interesting in legendary coach Bill Parcells after all.

Vikings media relations director Bob Hagan said on Wednesday that "there is no truth to the media reports" that Parcells could be given carte blanche powers if he came to Minneapolis and took over the organization.

Parcells' name has been linked to the New Orleans Saints as a one-year fill-in for suspended coach Sean Payton, and it was a bit peculiar that the Vikings would emerge as a major player to land Parcells' services in the first place. By dismissing these rumors once and for all, it's clear that the Vikings are content with giving Leslie Frazier a second attempt after he led Minnesota to a 3-13 record last season.
