Four Golden Gophers are at the Vikings rookie minicamp, but the highest profile name is being forced to sit out due to injury.

The Minnesota Vikings will have some in-state flair on their rookie minicamp roster with four former Minnesota Golden Gophers looking to try and make the state's big league team.

The biggest such name was Kim Royston, a stand out safety in the Big Ten in 2011 who led the Conference in solo tackles. Unfortunately, Twincities.com reported on Thursday that Royston is being forced to miss the minicamp with an injury. He won't make it, but will perhaps be first on the list for future tryout opportunities.

Wide receiver Da'Jon McKnight along with defensive linemen Brandon Kirksey and Anthony Jacobs are the other three less marquee Gopher names at the rookie minicamp. None of them were drafted in the draft proper by the Vikings.
