Vikings Vs. Chargers: Chris Carr Expected To Get First Start At Cornerback

Cornerback Chris Carr was signed away from the Baltimore Ravens this past offseason, and now he's slated to make his first start as a member of the Minnesota Vikings.

A concussion to starter Chris Cook has opened up a spot on the first team and Carr is first in line to fill that role, though he will split time with backup Josh Hamilton. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier praised Carr's preparation and brains:

"He's a sharp football player," Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said after practice Wednesday, noting that Carr is the likely choice to step in for injured Chris Cook, who is sidelined by concussion symptoms. "He's a very bright guy when it comes to understanding football and the concepts. He's adapted very well. His experience helps him a lot."

Carr, a seven-year NFL veteran who spent time with the Tennessee Titans and Oakland Raiders prior to his stint in Baltimore, has six career interceptions and 25 pass deflections.
