Jamarca Sanford is going to get a shot to compete for a starting safety spot again, says Vikings coach Leslie Frazier.

Jamarca Sanford could be getting another look at the Minnesota Vikings' starting safety spot, according to comments made by Vikings' head coach Leslie Frazier to Tom Pelissero of ESPN 1500 in the Twin Cities.

Frazier is willing to give Sanford a shot, and praised how hard the safety has worked during camp during the radio interview on Thursday.

"We're going to give Jamarca another shot, just to see how he does," Frazier said. "He's had a great camp and he's busted his tail to compete and fight for a job."

Sanford started all 15 games in which he appeared during the 2011 season, registering 44 tackles, five pass deflections and two interceptions. The fourth-year safety out of Mississippi was selected by the Vikings in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL draft, and has played in 41 career games.

The Vikings resume preseason action on Friday night vs. the San Diego Chargers at Mall of America Field.
