Vikings Still Looking For Third Running Back, Leslie Frazier Says

Stay connected for news and updates

Going into the team's final preseason game, the Minnesota Vikings still haven't determined who will be the team's third-string running back this year, as Jeremy Fowler of the Pioneer Press reports. Even after three exhibition games, the team still has an open competition with the regular season nearing.

As Vikings coach Leslie Frazier told reporters on Monday, "Hopefully, somebody will take the bull by the horns and really separate themselves and say, 'This is my position. This is my job on this football team.'"

At the moment, Jordan Todman, Lex Hilliard and Matt Asiata are competing for the role of third-string running back, but Todman has been injured for most of training camp. He's rounding into form now, though, so he could ultimately emerge behind Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhart.
