Jaguars At Vikings: Adrian Peterson Finds The End Zone Just Before The Half

Ladies and gentlemen, all is right in the National Football League. Adrian Peterson has found the end zone for the Minnesota Vikings, getting the team back to within two points of the Jacksonville Jaguars at 9-7.

After forcing the Jaguars to go three-and-out just before the two-minute warning, the Vikings started out at their own 41-yard line. They started the drive off right, getting the ball to Percy Harvin three consecutive times for 32 yards to move the ball into Jacksonville territory. After an 8-yard run by Peterson, Christian Ponder found receiver Michael Jenkins for a 14-yard gain to put the Vikings at first-and-goal from the Jacksonville 5-yard line.

Peterson handled the rest from there, carrying the ball on the next two plays. The second one was a three-yard touchdown run for his first score since Christmas Eve of last year against the Washington Redskins.

The Vikings really struggled to move the ball in the first half before coming alive at the end. Christian Ponder, thanks largely to that final drive, is now 7-for-11 for 78 yards on the afternoon. Harvin has three catches for 32 yards, as does tight end Kyle Rudolph. Adrian Peterson has carried the ball seven times for 23 yards and a touchdown.

We've hit halftime at the Metrodome in the 2012 season opener, and the Minnesota Vikings trail the Jacksonville Jaguars by a score of 9-7.
