Backstrom, Havlat Lead Wild Past Flames, 6-0

(Sports Network) - Niklas Backstrom posted 37 saves for his second shutout of the season as the Minnesota Wild handled the Calgary Flames, 6-0.

Martin Havlat had two goals and an assist while John Madden, Chuck Kobasew and Cal Clutterbuck each had a goal and an assist for the Wild, who have won three in a row. Mikko Koivu also lit the lamp for Minnesota, which has outscored the opposition 14-1 during its streak. Kyle Brodziak also tallied three assists on the night, having assisted on both of Havlat's goals and also assisting on Clutterbuck's goal that opened the scoring for the third period.

Miikka Kiprusoff allowed all six goals on 24 shots for the Flames, who have dropped their past two and six of eight.
