Wild Schedule: First Place Minnesota Tries To Halt Slide

The Minnesota Wild have lost their last two games as they enter a very busy week, but they are holding on to first place in the Northwest Division by two points over Vancouver. The Wild starts off a four game week tonight at home against the Tampa Bay Lightning, who currently are in third place in the Southeast Division.It is the final game of a six game homestand for Minnesota.

Wednesday the Wild heads back out on the road as they travel to Edmonton to face the Oilers. The Oilers won 5-2 in St. Paul last week and they are only three points out of the division lead behind Minnesota. It is the fourth game of the season between the two teams, and Minnesota holds a 2-1 edge with both wins in overtime.

Friday night Minnesota comes back home for a a home game against the New Jersey Devils, who sit in fourth place in the Atlantic Division with 25 points ahead of only the lowly Islanders. Minnesota then finishes the week back out on the road Sunday night at the Anaheim Ducks, who are in last place in the Pacific Division with only 16 points. The Ducks are in danger of being caught by Columbus for the worst record in the NHL.
