Five teams are clustered around the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference standings, Minnesota among them. The Wild will try to keep pace -- and snap a four-game losing streak -- Tuesday against Anaheim.
The Wild have lost four in a row, a streak which has dropped them into the backlog that has formed around the No. 8 spot in the West. Phoenix is currently sitting at No. 8 with 63 points. After that, it’s a mess.
Anaheim, meanwhile, is No. 13 with 53 points, but the Ducks have been making a push of late. They lost 13 out of 14 at one point this season but have rebounded to become relevant once again. They had a five-game winning streak in mid-January, and have won three of their last five heading into Minnesota.
Ducks forward Corey Perry is coming off a hat trick the last time out against Columbus. Perry leads Anaheim in goals and has found the net five times over the last five games.
The game starts at 6:30Central and will be on NBC Sports Network.
