Wild Trade Rumors 2012: Minnesota Likely To Be Buyers As Trade Deadline Approaches

Stay connected for news and updates

The Minnesota Wild look poised to be buyers in the NHL before the trade deadline hits on February 27th.

The NHL trade deadline is fast approaching, and before Feb. 27th when the lock hits there's sure to be plenty of interesting stories coming around in the NHL.

With the Wild languishing in 12th place in the Western Conference at the moment and a spark desperately needed, we can probably expect to see Minnesota acting as desperate buyers in the trading season rather than sellers. To miss the playoffs after the spectacular start to the season they put together would be unacceptable and the point dropping they've been doing the past few games certainly is as well.

The Wild are currently decent at just about every position, but lack real shut down stars at most of them. Minnesota may just have to get splashy and make a marquee move before the deadline hits.
