Zach Parise To The Minnesota Wild - It Makes Sense

Stay connected for news and updates

New Jersey Devils star Zach Parise is a fantastic hockey player. He is also somewhat expensive and is going to be a free agent on July 1st if the Devils don't decide to sign him. It doesn't look likely with that giant Ilya Kovalchuk contract still squatting on their pocketbook for a while, so Parise might have a new team sometime after this season.

Brian Ciskie thinks that the team that makes the most sense might just be the Minnesota Wild. They are a team without a real superstar talent, a team that has no real 'face to the franchise' as it were. Guys like Mikko Koivu and Dany Heatley are playing quite well for the team but without a big name player who can score 30-40 goals a season it's going to be hard for the Wild to ever be the big name team that the fans want them to be.

Plus, Parise is from Minnesota and has a father who played for the North Stars for a long, long time. Like Brian says, it's almost too easy to predict a Parise to Wild movement at the start of the offseason.
