Wild Vs. Stars: Minnesota Takes On NHL's Hottest Team

The Wild will try to slow down the Dallas Stars, who are 9-0-1 over their last 10.

The ice-cold Minnesota Wild will try to cool off the red-hot Dallas Stars on Tuesday.

Dallas comes to Minnesota having won five straight and nine of 10. The Wild, on the other hand, have lost six of their last seven and 14 of 18 dating back to Feb. 4.

This is the second game of a five-game home stand for the Wild. The first game, last Sunday, ended in a 4-3 loss to Calgary.

At just 2-7-1 in their last 10 home games, Wild coach Mike Yeo said the team is motivated to finish the season strong.

"We owe our fans a good game here," Wild coach Mike Yeo said. "There's been too many games in a row where we've come out flat in our own building. It would be nice if we had five or six guys that would like to win....We're going to be playing guys that want to play hard."

The Stars have lost four straight in Minnesota dating back to January 2011.

With 13 games to play, the Wild are 29-30-10. They should avoid slipping to last place in the Northwest Division because, for all Minnesota's struggles, Edmonton has had an even rougher go of it at 26-36-7.

The Wild are expected to be without Niklas Backstrom (groin) and Josh Harding (lower-body injury), Mikko Koivu (shoulder), Pierre-Marc Bouchard (concussion) and Cal Clutterbuck (illness).

Tuesday's game starts at 8 ET and will air on Fox Sports North and Fox Sports Wisconsin.
