The Minnesota Wild will look to win a road game against a slumping and injured Detroit Red Wings on Friday night.

The Minnesota Wild have never in the history of the team beat the Detroit Red Wings three times in a row, but they'll have an intriguing chance to do so on Friday night. Minnesota have two wins over Detroit this year, a 1-0 win back in October and a 2-1 overtime win in November, and they face a Wings team that after setting the record for most home wins in a row have dropped two straight at The Joe.

Minnesota fell to 3-12-4 in their last 19 road games with their loss to Montreal on Thursday night, and still looking to catch up to Dallas for the final playoff spot in the West will need to win as many games, home or away, as they possibly can as the season starts racing into the home stretch.

The Wings come into the game injured, missing their top scorer Pavyl Datsyuk and Nicklas Lidstrom as well. Jimmy Howard may return to play goal, though Joey MacDonald has done a fine job in relief during Howard's absence.

The game will be at Joe Louis Arena at 7:30 PM ET.
