Minnesota Wild goalie Nicklas Backstrom will miss 2-4 weeks with a strained groin.
Minnesota Wild goaltender Niklas Backstrom will miss 2-4 weeks after an MRI revealed a strained right groin he suffered in Thursday's loss to the Montreal Canadiens.
Backstrom had to be helped off the ice just minutes into the first period after he kicked out his right leg to make a safe. Via the official Twitter account of the Minnesota Wild:
The Wild lost the game on Thursday, 5-4, in a shootout, after Backstrom was replaced by backup goalie, Josh Harding. Minnesota faces another tought test Friday night at 6:30 p.m. CST when they face off against the Central Division-leading Red Wings in Detroit.
