The Minnesota Wild had their three-game winning streak broken on Tuesday night, falling to the Nashville Predators by a score of 2-1 via shootout. The Wild had been doing a good job of playing spoiler to their opponents of late, but they momentarily spoiled things for the Detroit Red Wings, as the Predators' win allowed them to jump the Wings into sole possession of the No. 4 spot in the Western Conference standings.
Both regulation goals came in the middle frame with Nashville scoring first and Dany Heatley tying things about five minutes later with his 23rd of the season. Minnesota had a power play in overtime, but Nashville successfully killed it, forcing the shootout.
