Goaltender Johan Gustafsson Signs Entry Level Deal With Minnesota Wild

The Minnesota Wild were able to strike a deal with Swedish goaltender Johan Gustafsson on an entry level contract Thursday. Gustafsson was selected by the Wild in the sixth round of the 2012 NHL Draft. If he hadn't been signed by a two-year deadline, he would have become re-eligible to enter the draft. Thankfully, the team was able to work out a deal just under the wire.

The new contract will last three years, according to the team's official site, giving the Wild some good depth at the position for the foreseeable future. Gustafsson, just 20 years old, had a .932 save percentage and 1.68 goals-against average in the Swedish Elite League last season, and helped lead the Swedes to a gold medal at the World Junior Championships.

Barring something catastrophic happening atop the depth chart, Gustafsson will likely spend next season overseas.
