Cory Roufs of 1500 ESPN is reporting that the University of Minnesota plans to fire Golden Gophers head football coach Tim Brewster if Minnesota loses to Purdue on Saturday.
The university drafted a press release and devised a media plan on Thursday to move forward if the Gophers lose their sixth consecutive game, sources said.
The report suggests that the termination would not take place until the end of the season, leaving it up to Brewster as to whether he'd rather coach out the year as a lame duck, or leave early and receive less money as part of his buyout.
One would expect the standard denials to be issued soon, of course.
