Peterson Fifth-Fastest Ever To 5,000 Career Rushing Yards

With his 73 yard rushing performance today, Adrian Peterson tied Jamal Lewis as the fifth-fastest running back to reach the 5,000 yard plateau in rushing yards for his career.

Peterson needed just 36 yards today to reach the 5,000 yard mark, and he reached that mark in his 51st NFL game. Eric Dickerson reached the plateau faster than anyone in NFL history, requiring only 45 games to reach it.

Congratulations to AP on his accomplishment, and in helping the Vikings get a win that they desperately needed this afternoon.
