Winds Cause Kickoff In Minnesota High School Playoff Game To Go Backwards

I don't want to say that the Section 1AAAAA playoff game between Farmington and Lakeville North was played in slightly less than ideal conditions. . .and I don't have to say that, because this video of one of the game's kickoffs pretty much speaks for itself. This is Lakeville North's kicker preparing to boot it away.

Yes, that kickoff managed to go backwards, with the net distance on the kickoff being -12 yards. The winds were gusting as high as 40 miles an hour at Tuesday night's game, and it played havoc with both teams.

Lakeville North, despite the backwards kickoff, adapted better to the conditions and wound up defeating Farmington 39-14 to advance in the Section 1AAAAA playoffs.
