After being rumored to have interest in the Minnesota Golden Gophers’ head coaching job a few weeks ago, Minnesota Vikings’ defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier has effectively withdrawn his name from the running, according to Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
↵↵↵“At this stage of my career I kind of like what we’re doing in the NFL,” Frazier said. “So we’ll see what happens.”
↵Frazier’s name was one of the first names mentioned after Tim Brewster was fired last month.
↵
Frazier has interviewed for six NFL head coaching jobs since becoming the Vikings’ defensive coordinator, but has yet to spear his proverbial great white whale.
↵Of course, he might not have the burden of the whole “Vikings being in the playoffs” thing he’s had to deal with the last two years, so maybe he’ll have a better shot this time around. . .if the Vikings keep playing the way they’re playing, that is.
