Wolves Week: A Look At The Week Ahead In Minnesota Basketball

It might be a bit of a rough week for our Minnesota Timberwolves, as they've got to play back-to-back games twice in a span of five days. On top of that, all of those games will be on the road against some pretty good Western Conference opponents. Given the quality of the teams that the Wolves will be seeing and their propensity for losing on the road. . .it's not looking too positive for the good guys.

The fun and frolicking starts tomorrow night, as the Wolves pack up and head to the Bay Area to take on the Golden State Warriors. These two teams met at the Target Center on Nov. 27, and the Warriors came away with a 104-94 victory. Golden State is currently in third place in the NBA's Pacific Division, but its 8-15 record isn't a whole lot better than Minnesota's 6-16 current mark. Tipoff for this one is set for 9:30 p.m. Central Time.

Then, on Wednesday, the Timberwolves will be in Phoenix to do battle with the Suns. The Wolves haven't played Phoenix yet this season. The Suns are in second place in the Pacific Division, yet are also under .500 as well, currently having a record of 11-12. Tipoff in Phoenix is scheduled for 8:00 PM Central.

Then after getting the day off on Thursday, Friday night will find the Timberwolves in Rip City to take on the Portland Trail Blazers. This will be the season's first meeting between these two teams. Portland is currently fourth in the Northwest Division with a 12-12 record. The game will get underway in Portland at 9:00 p.m. Central Time.

Finally, on Saturday, the Timberwolves will get themselves a Rocky Mountain high as they fly to Denver to battle it out with the Nuggets. The Nuggets' 14-9 mark has them in third place in the Northwest Division, and this will be the first time they'll see the Timberwolves in 2010-11. The game will start at the Pepsi Center at 8:00 p.m. Central Time.

The game against Denver will be available on television on My29. The other three games will all be available on TV on Fox Sports North, and all of the games will be available for your listening pleasure on 1130 KFAN-AM.
