New Gophers coach Jerry Kill said his priority when he became head coach was to try and keep the recruiting class of Tim Brewster committed to the University of Minnesota.
↵Naperville IL TE Matt LaCosse has been the first of those recruits to spurn Kill, de-commiting from Minnesota and commiting to the Flying Zookers of Illinois.
↵LaCosse said part of the reason was being assured that he could play as a freshman. If Kill told him that there were no assurances of playing right away because he would have to earn it, and LaCosse left, I say good luck in Illinois.
↵Kill made the right call to not promise anyone to anything, and if that’s the attitude he is trying to instill, I think the Gophers are headed in the right direction.
