Bieniemy To Leave Vikings For University Of Colorado

The Minnesota Vikings are, apparently, about to lose their running backs coach to his college alma mater.

Running backs coach Eric Bieniemy, who was interviewed over the weekend for the head coaching job with the Colorado Buffaloes, will instead be accepting the job as their offensive coordinator, according to the Denver Post.

The head coaching job will go to current Washington Redskins’ tight ends coach Jon Embree, who is also a Colorado alum. He was also interviewed for the job last weekend.

Bieniemy is the University of Colorado’s all-time leader in rushing yards, total yards, and touchdowns, and finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting in 1990 while helping to lead the Buffaloes to a national championship. He has been the Vikings’ running backs coach since 2006. No word has come as of yet as to when Bieniemy will be leaving the Vikings.

Congratulations to Eric Bieniemy, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.
