Twins Poised To Set Attendance Record?

That's what the numbers are saying, in any case.

The Minnesota Twins announced today they have surpassed the 3 million tickets sold mark for the 2010 inaugural season at their new ballpark, Target Field.

If all the tickets (Target Field seats 39,506) sold for all 81 home games, the total attendance would be 3,199,186. Currently, the Twins are averaging just over 39,000 a game, which places them sixth amongst MLB teams this season.

The current record for Twins' season attendance stands at 3,030,672.  That record was set in 1988, the year after the Twins won their first World Series.
