After dropping the series opener on Tuesday night, the Minnesota Twins (40-30) will get behind Francisco Liriano as they look to even the three-game series with the Milwaukee Brewers.
In the month of June, Liriano has been outstanding, going 1-1 despite allowing just 5 runs in 22 total innings for a solid 2.05 ERA. Liriano didn't face the Brewers at Target Field back in May, but he's had success against the National League in his career, going 8-2 with a 2.61 ERA in ten career interleague starts.
Opposite Liriano and on the mound for the Milwaukee Brewers (30-40) will be lefty Manny Parra. In the three-game series against the Twins earlier this season, Parra received a decision in two of the games, going 1-1 while allowing one run in 3.2 innings of work out of the bullpen against Minnesota. Parra has since joined the Brewers' starting rotation, and so far in three June starts has gone 0-2 with a 3.63 ERA.
Offensively, the Twins will look to start fast as they did in the series opener, but maintain it for a complete game. Manager Ron Gardenhire has put Michael Cuddyer back at third base for game two, allowing Jason Kubel to remain in the lineup as the right fielder.
First pitch is at 7:10 CT on FOX Sports North.
