No. 30: Wolves Take Lazar Hayward

After trading the No. 23 and No. 56 picks to the Washington Wizards in exchange for the No. 30 and No. 35 picks, the Minnesota Timberwolves selected forward Lazar Hayward from Marquette University with the final pick in the first round of the draft.

Last season for Marquette, Hayward averaged 18.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Timerwolves’ President David Kahn is apparently looking for mature players as he previously selected 23-year old Wesley Johnson and traded for 23-year old Martell Webster before selecting the 23-year old senior out of Marquette.
