Roster Move: Harris Out-righted, Jason Repko Joins Twins

It was lost in the big day for another Minnesota team (hint: the Timberwolves), but after the Twins were swept in Milwaukee yesterday, they made a roster move. The team outrighted the struggling Brendan Harris off the 40-man roster and recalled outfielder Jason Repko from Triple-A Rochester:

Harris was batting .157 for the Twins. He already has cleared waivers. He needs to accept the assignment or lose the remainder of his two-year, $3.2 million contract.

“He’s going to take the assignment,” Twins General Manager Bill Smith said. “And the best thing he can do is get some at-bats and go down and get himself on track.”

So far this season in Rochester, Repko had played 59 games for the Red Wings with a .281 batting average, 6 HR and 28 RBI. Joe Christensen of the Star Tribune writes that Repko, who appeared in 10 games for the Los Angeles Dodgers last season, will wear No. 18:

Jason Repko is here. He’ll wear No. 18.
