Favre To Attend ESPYs, Present Arthur Ashe Award

Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune is reporting that Vikings’ quarterback Brett Favre will be attending the ESPY Awards. The award show takes place this Wednesday night in Los Angeles.

Favre, who has still not made totally obvious to everyone on the planet that he’s returning for another season, will present the Arthur Ashe Courage Award. Past recipients of the award include Jim Valvano (who gave an epic speech upon receiving the award), former MLB umpire Steve Palermo, and the Afghani women’s soccer team. (Complete list of past winners can be found right here.)

Favre is actually up for several ESPY Awards this year, including record-breaking performance (for breaking the consecutive start record), performance under pressure (for his return to Green Bay), and NFL Player of the Year.

Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers will watch the ESPYs from his couch and try to figure out another way he can bend it like Beckham.
